About

Steve has worked in the AEC industry since his first job at age 15 as a drafter in his father’s architectural firm.  Involvement in architecture for several years as a drafter, student, and photographer, has increased Steve’s understanding of architectural considerations and how they are impacted by structural systems and details.  This unique perspective, combined with his technical background and experience, make him an effective member of the design team.

For four years Steve served as a faculty member of the Boise State University Civil Engineering Department teaching classes on masonry design, timber design, building codes, and seismic design of steel structures.  He is a co-author of two technical articles on steel connection design, one of which is referenced in the AISC Steel Construction Manual.  He has presented at national and international engineering conferences and given technical lectures at several universities.

In the evenings Steve can frequently be found doing genealogical research.  He has traced family lines to as far back as the 1500’s.
